PITCH TIP 14 THE FINAL FINAL FINAL VERSION

Just right for a Friday

TOM GEORGE SAYS AIM FOR THE FINAL FINAL FINAL VERSION   Remember that less is more.  Don’t overload your charts with your voiceover (that’s a common trap that people fall into) and don’t forget that It’s harder to produce a sixty page deck than a hundred page deck but in almost all cases, a refined and simplified shorter deck will always be more compelling than a longer one.  We always know when we’ve achieved this when our final deck is called something like ‘Final Final Master version 27d’….

PITCH TIP 15 HOW LONG HAVE WE GOT?

Simon Marquis brings 30 years in media and advertising to the Pitch. One piece of advice to people he mentors others in the business. I’m always amazed that no one ever says at the beginning of a pitch “ this presentation is going to last 45 minutes. I have 20 slides to help me make my case to you. Is everyone OK with that? And please ask questions as we go along.” Setting out your stall at the beginning puts the audience at ease and stops them wondering from the start how long you will be going on for!
